NCB's NEBOSH IGC FAQs
The NEBOSH IG1/IGC1 examination underwent revisions on 1 July 2020.
This exam is now administered as an "Open Book" test that can be taken from the comfort of your home. At a predetermined time, exam papers are dispatched, after which examinees have a 24-hour window to finalize and submit their responses. While the test generally takes only a few hours, the extended timeframe accommodates learners from various global time zones.
The assessment incorporates scenario-based queries. Test-takers are presented with specific scenarios and then posed questions that assess the knowledge acquired during their coursework. While referencing books is permissible, it's imperative to cite all utilized sources. NEBOSH employs software to ensure that responses aren't merely lifted from standard texts.
Post-examination, a tutor will interview candidates to verify both their comprehension of their answers and their identity.
It's vital for examinees to thoroughly review the course material prior to the exam. We also recommend creating comprehensive notes to consult during the assessment process.
The duration varies based on your mode of study. Both the Classroom and Live Online sessions last for 2 weeks (10 days), not including assessments. On the other hand, learners typically complete the Online study mode within a timeframe of 3 to 6 months.
