This course in Process Safety Management is designed for professionals in process industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, plastics, and pharmaceuticals. Ideal for managers, supervisors, safety representatives, and health and safety advisors, it provides essential knowledge on establishing safety management systems, maintaining assets, and ensuring safe operations. Learners will also gain insights into managing chemical hazards, fire and explosion risks, and emergency planning. While comprehensive, the course is not intended for experienced process safety engineers. The goal of this course is to shift participants from thinking of PSM elements as isolated parts and procedures to a system of interrelated mutually supportive actions and outcomes. This new perspective provides the foundation for incident and hazard reduction. Participants will be divided into groups of three and asked to work collaboratively to analyze scenarios using incident videos and case studies and apply critical thinking skills to predict potential problems.
